Product description
Applications
BOILER TREAT ONE SHOT is suitable for use with all auxiliary boilers including waste heat and exhaust gas boilers. BOILER TREAT ONE SHOT prevents scale formation.
Directions for use
For optimum results, BOILER TREAT ONE SHOT should be dosed directly into the boiler via a by-pass pot feeder installed in the boiler feed line. For low-pressure boilers without by-pass feeder, the product may be dosed into the hot well. But we do not advise this as a long term solution. Regular blowdown is necessary to remove sludge and solids.
In order to treat the boiler correctly, five elements are needed.:
- Alkaline controller and corrosion inhibitor – ALKALINITY CONTROL
- Scale suppression and prevention – HARDNESS CONTROL LIQUID
- Particle removal – LIQUID COAGULANT
- Oxygen scavenging – HYDRAZIDE
- Condensate conditioning or neutralising – CONDENSATE TREAT
BOILER TREAT ONE SHOT has two elements of treatment:
- Alkaline controller and corrosion inhibitor
- Scale suppression and prevention
For good boiler water treatment we strongly advise using HYDRAZIDE as oxygen scavenger and CONDENSATE TREAT, or CONDENSATE CONTROL, for neutralising acids in the condensate system.
Initial dosage
Initial dose for untreated system is 1 l of BOILER TREAT ONE SHOT per 1000 l of water. Maintenance dosages are determined by the result of P-alkalinity. Analysis is carried out using VECOM MARINE boiler water test kits.
NOTE: The phosphate and alkalinity values if analysed, may not necessarily correspond to the control levels. In cases of poor quality feedwater used, increased dosages may be required. If the P-alkalinity is persistently low, use ALKALINITY CONTROL to adjust. The pH of the boiler water should be kept between 9.5 – 11.
The boiler water parameters should be as per the boiler operating manual. Our recommendations are:
P-alkalinity: 100 – 200 ppm CaCO3 (ideal level P-alkalinity is 150 ppm)
M-alkalinity: Below two times P-alkalinity
Boiler chloride: Max. 90 ppm
Boiler pH: 9.5 – 11.0
Condensate pH: 8 – 10
Oxygen scavenger: 0.8 – 1.5 ppm
