Applications
Testing potable water and sewage effluent requires bacterial samples to be incubated for 24–48 hours. This process encourages the growth of bacteria present in the samples, allowing them to be detected and properly identified. Incubation is carried out using an incubator, a compact heating unit that maintains a stable temperature for a specified period, usually 24 or 48 hours, depending on the test being performed.
As most potable water and sewage effluent tests require incubation, vessels that are required to carry out these tests need to have an incubator on board.
Vecom Marine’s INCUBATOR FOR BACTERIA SAMPLES is suitable for incubating bacteria dip slides, Colilert bags (Thio bags) and Petri dishes. Its efficient design helps minimise power consumption, while its robust ABS housing makes it well suited to the marine environment.

Supplied ready for connection to either mains power or a 12-Volt supply, the incubator comes complete with a universal plug and power adaptor. Its solid-state temperature control technology, combined with a heat-reservoir chassis, ensures excellent heat distribution without the need for fans or other moving parts.
The INCUBATOR FOR BACTERIA SAMPLES can be used with the following Vecom Marine test kits:
