Product description
Applications
Petroleum products contain a fraction of long-chain alkanes (with a carbon number smaller than 20) or paraffins commonly known as wax. Wax formation is frequently prevalent in lower temperatures and its dissolution back to fuel is very difficult. Manual removal of wax formation is a difficult and time consuming process and will lead to great economical losses in oil recovery. FOT FLOW IMPROVER is an additive containing ethylene vinyl ester polymers in higher boiling hydrocarbons. This additive can considerably reduce both the CFPP (Cold Filter Plugging Point) and the Pour Point of diesels and heavy fuel oils. It improves the cold flow properties and helps reduce the unwanted wax formation, as well as diminish its accumulation and fallout risk.
Directions for use
Based on the characteristics of the particular middle distillate in use, 25 – 500 ppm is usually sufficient to achieve the desired CFPP and/or Pour Point response. Higher dosages up to 1000 ppm may also be used while observing the recommended blending conditions. The dosage rates required are very dependent on the characteristics of the middle distillates. When dosing, temperature should be at least 5 °C above the fuel’s measured cloud point. Ideal storage temperature is 25 to 35 °C. After prolonged storage at low temperatures the product should be stirred or otherwise homogenised before use.
